Speaking of ice … I’ll take any opportunity to remind people of this INCREDIBLE footage of the largest glacier calving ever caught on camera (it’s from the documentary film “Chasing Ice”).
Watching a Manhattan-sized city of ice buck and roll and collapse into the ocean is breathtaking - and as photographer James Balog hoped, it conveys a powerful message. Ice is disappearing at an alarming rate - 150 feet per year in some places.
